Healing Energy and Illnesses

There is some confusion about whether Reiki is suitable to be used for people who are having medical treatments for their illness, and when is best to have Reiki is you have a disease or illness.

Reiki is beneficial at any time for any illness or disease, and their symptoms.  It is not necessary to wait until after your treatments have finished before starting to have Reiki sessions.  It is possible and beneficial to have Reiki along aside any medical treatments.  The healing energy will help as it can and won’t have any adverse effect on your medical treatments.  It is a good idea to have Reiki at any time, fit and healthy or when you have health problems.  The energy does what it can at any given time.  It heals to the extent it is possible in that instant, in that session and for the time that it persists after your Reiki session.  Reiki cannot harm.  There are no contra-indications to having Reiki.  hands and energy

Please don’t hesitate to have Reiki, if you are ill in any way.  It is the same as when you think about conventional medicine and treatments.  The quicker you have access to help, the better.  The sooner you give this natural energy the chance to help you, the sooner you will see results.

Connection to Reiki

We are all connected to a healing energy within ourselves.  We are all connected to universal energy around us as we are all connected to the universe itself.  We are all connected to spiritual energy.  These connections are not given by a Reiki Master when you train, they are already there.  A Reiki Master deepens the connection by empowerments and attunements.  We are Reiki.  We all have the power within us to be spiritual beings, to be the light, to be healing energy, to be empowered earthly and spiritual.

It is fine to say that I do Reiki for myself and for other people. It is fine to say that I am going to be Reiki for you.  It is fine to say that I use Reiki energy.  It is fine to say that I give Reiki.  It is fine to say that I share Reiki.  It is fine to say we are Reiki.  I help people to gain their spiritual awareness.  I help people to understand their connection to a healing energy.  I help people to understand their connection to a universal energy and a spiritual energy. There is not one saying that is better than the other.  There is not one expression to use that must be used by everyone.  Whichever words we use, the Reiki energy will work exactly the same. If someone says they are doing Reiki or being Reiki, the energy will be exactly the same, and one will not be more profound than the other.

Let us use our connection to Reiki to bring people together not divide by the words we use to describe our connection.  What, how we do, be, use, connect, utilise, the energy for ourselves and other people not as important as that we are able to have this, that we are able to know this, and bring this understanding to other people.  We are able to share this with other people.  There is a natural healing energy.  There is a natural universal energy.  There is a natural method of healing.  There is a natural way to heal.  There is a natural way to help ourselves and other people to heal.  There is a natural way to help ourselves and others in our and their spiritual path.  There is a natural way to do this that does not divide us as human beings, but brings us closer together as human beings.

How Does Reiki Work

Reiki utilises a healing energy which works on various levels, the biological physical level for illnesses, health problems, pain and stress, overtiredness, the mental level for stress again and emotional upset, worries and the spiritual level. People often say that having and learning about Reiki has enriched their life.

Reiki works on the human biology, and also on your chakras as well. It works on human biology and also animal biology as well, so your pets can benefittoo. I do zen meditation when I do Reiki, which is healing in itself, and creates healing energy so that my Reiki healing uses universal energy which is everywhere, there is energy is everything and everyone, and Zen meditation healing energy as well. It is the healing energy which goes to someone when they have a treatment and promotes healing. I am a conductor of it.

Atoms that make up your body have spaces, which have ‘force fields’, and atoms continually give off and absorb light and energy. There is also the energy field around the human body as well. Your brain initiates energy when you think, and there are organelles called mitochondria in the body which are the powerhouses of cells. So, everyone has energy within them, and around them, and there is energy everywhere. And as I have already said, doing Zen meditation changes the brain, increases synapse connections, and it is believed produces healing energy, which can also be sent to another person.

Reiki works so that if someone has a health problem, an illness or an injury. The healing energy will promote healing in their body. It is a healing energy which assists the body’s own healing methods.

Reiki – all you need to do is relax

Some people have various ideas about Reiki life energy which are unfounded or inaccurate. One thing is that when they have a session, they need to do something which would take effort on their part. This isn’t accurate. When you have a Reiki session, you don’t have to make any effort when you have a treatment, you just relax, you don’t have to do anything else.

Relax, that’s all. You can have a session lying on a table, or sat in a comfy chair, or lying on your settee. The energy works just the same. You can close your eyes or leave them open, a lot of people like to close their eyes, and some drift to sleep. You can have a Reiki life energy session, however you feel on the day, so even if you don’t feel at your best, or you are ill, or tired, having an appointment could be good for you. You don’t need to worry about feeling tired or not at your best, the energy will be beneficial for your needs.

One customer who had Reiki fell asleep on the table for nearly the whole hour. She said that she only usually sleeps two hours a night, and was very surprised to be able to sleep for an hour. She went into a deep sleep, and she said her breathing changed as well, so that she was breathing deeply. The energy helped her to sleep, because as well health difficulties, she needed to sleep.

Reiki is not massage

One of the inaccurate things that some people think about Reiki energy treatments, is that it is massage. Reiki is not massage. It is not a manipulative procedure at all. The practitioner places their hands gently on the client, in either set positions, on the head, etc, or places their hands using their intuition, and where it feels that the energy is going to. There is no pressure used. Also if the client wishes, the treatment can be done without contact at all, so then the hands will be held a small distance away without contact. But usually people have Reiki energy using contact.

If you go to see someone who uses pressure during a Reiki session, ask them to stop. If they are qualified in something else, they still should not do it within a Reiki session, unless you have booked for that. Reiki has no contra -indications, and one of the reasons is that it is not a manipulative procedure. Another reason is that you are simply placing your hands gently on the customer, or holding them above without touching at all. And it is a natural healing energy which cannot harm.

It is possible to have Reiki within a massage treatment, if you have booked for a massage with Reiki.  I give these treatments myself, as do other qualified therapists.  I am a qualified massage therapist, aromatherapist and Reiki Master, so I understand the differences and similarities.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness works in two ways: firstly it is simply being in the moment and focusing your attention on what you are doing. It means that you don’t think about other things when you are doing something. Concentrate on what you are doing, think about what you are doing, and not the past or the future or anything else you need to do. Live in the moment, so that you don’t worry over and over about things that have happened in the past. If there is something you can do about it, do it, but if not put it behind you, forgive yourself when you have made mistakes. Try not to worry about the future, make plans, have goals, but don’t worry too much, if you think of things going wrong, think of what you will do in those events, then put it aside. If it hasn’t happened, there is no point worrying repeatedly about it. Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. You will find things easier to do, tasks easier to finish, if you focus on what you are doing at the time, and not what you need to do next, or how much you have to do. You only have one pair of hands, unless you can delegate, if you can delegate some task, that might be helpful. I paid a gardener to get rid of the weeds in my garden last Saturday, it didn’t cost me a lot, and it was done in an hour, whilst I did the washing up which had piled up in the kitchen. If you are learning to be mindful and you have a lot of things to do, it helps to make a list. So that you can do one thing and focus your attention on that one thing, then when it is done, go on to the next thing you need to do. Secondly, it can also mean relaxing totally, so when you want to relax and not do anything, relax your thoughts as well. So that you can just listen to the sounds around you, or some music, and let those sounds fill where your thoughts would be, then if you think of anything, let the thoughts drift by like clouds, and you don’t have to follow them or add to them. Be none judgemental when you think something, view the thoughts you have, and acknowledge your feelings. If you have thoughts that are of an anxious or stressful nature, follow each thought with a positive thought about the circumstance you are worried about. Follow each negative thought with a thought about a good outcome to a worrying situation, follow each negative thought with a thought of how it could work out well, and how you could handle the situation in a way that would be good for you. You can choose to think thoughts that make you feel better. So in these ways, you will reduce worrying, stress and anxiety.

Taking a Break on your own

If you go on a day trip on your own, to the theatre, to the cinema, to the park, a short holiday, it’s good for you to spend time on your own. Also if you go on a trip on your own, not necessarily abroad, but somewhere else, you can reassess everything, which is very hard to do within your usual environment. Doing things on your own gives you confidence and self assurance as well.

Stress

Feeling stress, makes you feel tired. To reduce the feeling of stress and tiredness. Take a step back from the problem or situation, try and view it objectively on one hand, can you reassess the situation? Can you review your feelings about it and change how you feel about it? Can you do one thing right now to make you feel better? Think thoughts about it that make you feel better rather than thinking anything that makes you feel worse. Make a plan to sort out the problem, and think of what you will do about any possible difficulties, but don’t try and work everything out. You don’t need to know how you will do everything, some things may happen easily than you imagine, and you could be thinking of difficulties that may never occur. On the other hand think about how you feel about the situation, is your instinct trying to tell you anything? Is there an inner voice, a quiet voice that is trying to get through to you, below the louder worrying voice? Give yourself space both emotionally and physically in order to be able to think clearly, and to be able to hear your intuition. Long term stress is very bad for your health. Try to reduce the stress in your life, by reducing the causes of it, if that is possible. Do you delegate enough at work? Do you need more help in the home? Do you need to make new friends, or connect with your friends more so that you are able to talk, not message or email, talk more in person or on the phone. Do you need to take time out for yourself more? Do you need a holiday? Even a day trip away from your usual environment can help. A cool shower? A massage? A face masque and relax while it does it’s work. A couple of drops of lavender essential oil on a tissue and breathe in the fragrance which is calming and balancing. There are other things you can do to cope better with stressful situations: meditation, going for walks, Reiki, sharing happy times with friends, having/finding someone to support you or help you out, even if it is something like paying a cleaner or a gardener, for once, so that you have less jobs to do yourself at this time. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
